its vision to be \u201cA world class patient centered specialized care Hospital\u201d.\u00a0 In this regard, the hospital has set aside funds to be disbursed through the <strong>Medical Research Department<\/strong> to promote research within the hospital.<\/p><p><strong><u>Eligibility<\/u><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>KNH Personnel or affiliated to KNH<\/li><li>Proposal should be original and likely to influence policy or practice<\/li><li>Setting of the study must be KNH or relevant to KNH<\/li><li>At least one investigator must be from KNH<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><u>Types of projects<\/u><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Quality of health care<\/li><li>Quality Improvement:<ul><li>Example- Review of patient management and outcomes of treatment<\/li><li>Adherence to protocols that influence patient care<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Review of management systems<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Applications are not limited to the above and includes non-clinical areas. <\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Funding available<\/u><\/strong><\/p><p>Awards are <u>Limited to a maximum<\/u> of <strong>ksh.400,000.00 <\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Application Guidelines <\/u><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Application letter<\/li><li>Curriculum Vitae<\/li><li>Research concept paper (Maximum 5 Pages double spaced)<ul><li>Background<\/li><li>Objectives<\/li><li>Methods<\/li><li>Significance<\/li><li>Policy implications<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Fulfil Award requirement<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>NB: Approval of study proposal by KNH UoN Ethics Research Committee is not required during application.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Award requirement<\/u><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Letters of support from the KNH department where the study will be conducted.<\/li><li>Postgraduate students will provide a letter from the chair of their department confirming that they have not received funding from other sources to conduct the study.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><u>Funds Disbursement requirement<\/u><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Approval of study proposal by KNH UoN Ethics Research Committee.<\/li><li>Disbursement shall be in tranches based on progress of the study.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><u>Post-Award Requirements<\/u><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Commitment to disseminate results of the study to the hospital.<\/li><li>Acknowledge KNH in all publications derived from this funding.<\/li><li>Written approval from the hospital before each and every publication.<\/li><li>An end of grant report upon completion of the project.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
