The training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies required to deliver high-quality HIV testing services in both clinical and community settings. Using a competency-based approach, the course emphasizes practical mastery of essential skills.<\/p>

Key objectives include:<\/strong><\/h4>

\u00b7 Gaining a comprehensive understanding of HIV\/AIDS and related health issues, including sexual and reproductive health.<\/p>

\u00b7 Developing effective counseling and communication skills for pre- and post-test sessions.<\/p>

\u00b7 Learning and applying HIV testing procedures in line with national guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).<\/p>

\u00b7 Ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of HIV testing services.<\/p>

\u00b7 Strengthening skills in linking clients to appropriate prevention, care, and treatment services<\/p>

Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>

Minimum academic qualifications include:<\/p>

\u00b7 Diploma in social or Health sciences or a related field.<\/p>

Note:<\/strong><\/p>

\u00b7 Prior work experience in HIV\/AIDS counseling or healthcare is required.<\/p>

\u00b7 A strong interest in public health and counseling is essential.<\/p>

\u00b7 KNH provides five days of supervised clinical practice and awards a NASCOP certificate upon successful completion.<\/p>

\u00b7 Target Populations and HTS Approaches:<\/strong> Identifying priority populations and applying appropriate settings, strategies, and delivery models.<\/p>

\u00b7 Communication and Counseling for HTS<\/strong>: Building effective counseling and communication skills tailored to HIV testing services.<\/p>

\u00b7 HTS Package and Protocols:<\/strong> Understanding the full scope of HIV testing services and standard protocols.<\/p>

\u00b7 HIV Prevention Strategies:<\/strong> Including PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis), and harm reduction techniques.<\/p>

\u00b7 Testing Requirements, Algorithms, and Procedures:<\/strong> Performing HIV tests using national algorithms and rapid test kits.<\/p>

\u00b7 Result Interpretation:<\/strong> Accurately reading, explaining, and communicating HIV test results to clients.<\/p>

\u00b7 Quality Assurance<\/strong> Applying best practices to ensure reliable testing and ethical standards.<\/p>
