Customer Service Week is an international celebration of the importance of <\/span><\/span>customer service and of the people who serve and support customers daily. It has <\/span>been celebrated since 1987 and it provides a unique opportunity for service and <\/span>support professionals around the globe to join in a celebration of the important role that <\/span>customer service plays in every organization.<\/span>

Kenyatta National Hospital joins the world in remembering the great role it plays in <\/span><\/span>serving customers in this competitive healthcare industry. It is vital to display a strong <\/span><\/span>commitment to the vision, mission, and ultimately our core values. Today, local and <\/span><\/span>international competition as well as unique customer demands require greater corporate <\/span><\/span>efficiency and excellence in customer service.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/font>For the Hospital to remain at the apex of the health care system in the region and the <\/span><\/span>changing global economy, optimizing customer experience through teamwork and team <\/span><\/span>spirit must be each employee\u2019s personal goal. It is the foundation for providing great <\/span><\/span>customer service.<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/font><\/span>The Institute of Medicine (IOM) defines patient-centered care as: \u201cproviding care that <\/span><\/span>is respectful of, and responsive to, individual patient preferences, needs, values, and <\/span><\/span>ensuring that those patient values guide all clinical decisions.\u201d This kind of attitude to <\/span><\/span>service provision leads to customer loyalty and excellent clinical outcomes.<\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span>We all must be in the frontline to spearhead these efforts by engaging customers, <\/span><\/span>creating awareness within the hospital, and engaging the public through the new media <\/span>and other platforms.
