Kenyatta National Hospital invites applications for the Fellowship in Clinical Paediatric Cardiology. This fellowship is designed to train highly skilled specialists capable of delivering comprehensive, holistic, and evidence-based paediatric cardiac care. It also seeks to develop future leaders in paediatric cardiology clinical care, research, education, and health systems strengthening.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the programme, fellows will be able to diagnose and manage paediatric
cardiac conditions, perform key clinical procedures competently, conduct independent research, and
provide leadership, mentorship, quality improvement, and professional education in paediatric cardiac
care.
Mode of Training
Training will be delivered through a blended approach comprising formal lectures, tutorials, supervised clinical practice, bedside teaching, seminars and conferences, practical procedures and demonstrations, simulation-based learning, journal clubs, and morbidity and mortality meetings.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Hold a Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health or equivalent qualification from an
institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
2. Registered with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council of Kenya.
3. Applicants whose basic medical degree was taught in a language other than English must provide
evidence of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL certificate).
4. Provide evidence of valid professional indemnity cover before commencement of training and
maintain it throughout the full training period.
